Bangladesh has declined over the last decade on the World Economics Governance Index. It currently attains a D-grade – or “poor” rating.

This decline betrays falling standards across data reflecting corruption, the rule of law, press freedom and political rights. Bangladesh now sits just above countries in the Governance rankings like Zimbabwe and Pakistan.
