Real GDP per capita in Argentina is only 19% higher than it was a quarter of a century ago and has dropped by 12% since 2011. Argentina’s growth in living standards is hampered by poor governance. The World Economics Governance Factors Index rates Argentina at only 58.0 in line with other badly performing South American economies like Brazil.
