US Sales Managers Growth Indexes
Rise to New Highs in October


 
The US Sales Managers Market Growth Index accelerated to a 54.9 reading in October, a 27 month high. The month-on-month Sales Growth Index also rose sharply to a similarly elevated level, and 8 month high. These indexes are currently reflecting buoyant growth over a wide spectrum of economic activity.


But below the surface of continuing growth worrying trends remain evident, with Price Inflation still elevated (a far too-high-for-comfort index reading of 56.9, and the Staffing index still remaining below the crucial 50 Index level.

In all probability these contradictory undercurrents will continue to hamper the Federal Reserve's attempts at reducing price inflation via interest rate rises.
