Pakistan Downgraded on the World Economics Governance Index


 
Pakistan’s rating has declined on the World Economics Governance Index over the last decade. Standards have fallen in the country across data reflecting corruption, the rule of law, press freedom and political rights.

This rating determines the grading of countries on the Index. Consequently, Pakistan was downgraded to E-grade - or extremely poor - in 2025. Pakistan now sits in the worst Governance category alongside the likes of Russia.
